Tank Vent Dryer

$74.33 $124.88
Description Many fluids, semi-solids and powders are seriously affected by moisture and other contaminants. Most of the materials which are affected are stored in tanks which are either located in the open and vented to atmosphere or are located in the process area and affected by materials used in the same area. The level of damage varies from rendering the material useless to the lowering of efficiency and consequently the value. Moisture, in the form of water vapor, is the prime source of contamination and will cause simple dilution of acids, an increase in the corrositivity of oils and other fluids, fungal and biological activity in materials, such as glycerol, or the lowering of electrical resistance of transformer oils and similar materials. The selective use of desiccants, such as molecular sieve, silica gel and activated alumina together with a wide range of adsorbents in its Tank Desiccant Breathers and adsorption units, enables AGM to offer a high level of protection for a wide range of materials. Tank Vent Dryer Desiccant Breather Selection Guide The data shown below should be used to assist in the selection of the most suitable Tank Vent Dryer Desiccant Breather unit for a particular application. Select a model which has a flow rate greater than the maximum filling rate or the maximum discharge rate of the pump that empties the tank. Determine the period of time (usually in months) you wish to allow changes of desiccant in the Tank Desiccant Breather.  Calculate the volume of liquid which will be drawn from the tank during that period.  Select a model that will give you a capacity greater than the calculated volume. The correct unit to use will be the larger of the models from the results of 1 and 2 above. The above figures are based on use in a temperate climate. Please consult our technical staff for guidance on the use of these units in tropical or unusual locations.
